I need to amend my 2021 return because I received a 1099K from paypal for money earned doing online surveys through Swagbucks. How do I enter this on Turbotax?

I started to enter it under self employment but I dont have a business so I am unsure as how to proceed. I earned points via Swagbucks that I cashed out to paypal. I exceeded the $1000 a year cap which then generated a 1099K.

If you performed this work with the intention of earning money, then you have a business. Enter the income on Schedule C.

If you're self-employed, it's likely you need to fill out an IRS Schedule C to report how much money you made or lost in your business.

We'll automatically complete Schedule C for you when you add your self-employment income in TurboTax (usually Form 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC). It gets attached to your Form 1040, which we'll also handle for you.

If you need Schedule C to report a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC, search for 1099-NEC or 1099-misc and select the Jump to link. We'll ask questions to find out if your 1099 income needs to go on Schedule C.

Is it ok that it says Online Surveys as work description? I wasnt sure what to put when it asked

Thank you! One more question. I amended my federal and moved to my state however it is asking me for the date my 1040 X was accepted federally. Do I need to wait to amend my state? I am not sure how to move forward

Since the state is asking for the date the federal amendment was accepted, then you should wait to file your state amendment until you know that the federal return was accepted.   There are some states that will not accept an amended return until the federal return was accepted.

Turbo Tax is allowing me to amend my return. Would it do this if the forms aren’t available? I finished my federal and moved

I filed both my federal and state early February and they have both been accepted

How do I submit my federal first? I completed the federal section and it automatically moves to state without an option to file them separately.
