Have you contacted the employer for the W-2? What have you done to get the W-2? Does the employer have your correct mailing address?
Yes, there is a procedure for filing without your W-2 form, but your have to make an effort to get your W-2 form first.
You must wait until you get your W-2 and if you don't receive it by January 31, you have to contact your employer to request one.
If you still don't have your W-2 form by the end of February, you should contact the IRS for help. They will contact your employer and remind them of their obligation to provide your W-2 no later than January 31.
Follow this link to get details about how to ask the IRS to help you with this.
If you still don't get the form, you can file using Form 4852, Substitute for W-2 and the information that you have about the wages you were paid. Follow this link to learn how to do this in TurboTax.
