I have not received my tax refund however I realized I left the unemployment 1099 form off, so I amended the taxes and now it’s saying I owe for over payment

I'm not sure if you Owe or you have an over payment?

• On your amended tax return, what is on line 37.  This would be the amount you owe.
• If you have a number in box 37, this is an overpayment.

Did your original tax return get completely processed prior to filing the amended return?

If you did not

• Wait for both to be processed
• It may be that the amended return was processed before the original return
• You will have to contact the IRS to sort it out.
• You can call toll-free at 800-829-1040 or contact a Taxpayer Assistance Center Local IRS Office.
