Last year I tried to efile my 2016 tax return but could not b/c my college son accidentally listed himself as head of household. So I ended up refiling his return. when that was completed I filed my own federal return, however the IRS is stating that they never received it. So I'm trying to reprint out my federal return with the current dates so that I can paper file it again. I've downloaded my return, but it still has last years date. How can I reprint my 2016 federal return with the current date so that I may re-sign it and then file it ? Please advise, b/c I attempted to download TurboTax 2016, but have not been able to open my return. It states that I need to download my state return as well. I live in CT but work in NY. When I went to download my state return it brings me to a page where I have to pay to get my Ct state return. I really dont need my NY or CT state return as I was able to file those.
All I really want to do is reprint my completed Federal with the current date so that I can file the 2016 return. Please advise

All you need it the PDF if you don't need to make any changes to the return ... you didn't need to download the program.
