Something must have gone wrong with your e-file.  Either you did not actually go all the way through to the orange button that said "Transmit Return Now" and complete the process, or your tax return was rejected and you did not notice or follow up.  At this point, you have to print, sign and mail it.

Online preparation and e-filing for 2017 is permanently closed.  You have to download 2017 software to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device) and then print, sign and mail your return.  If you already paid for your TurboTax software, you can contact customer support to push a download of the software to you.

To finish a prior year return started in TT online:https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2559403-how-do-i-finish-a-prior-year-return-that-i-started-in-turb

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS and/or your state received the return.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS/your state based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS or your state will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

Is that correct?  Did you not file?  Was the letter from the IRS or your state?  Does the letter say you owe?  When you look at your online account for 2017, what does it show?  "accepted?"  "rejected" "ready to mail?"

I thought I had filed. I don't know if it was accepted or not. I paid the price and it says I have credit.

What does it say on your account?  Did you look?  Paying the TurboTax fee does not file your return.
