Form 1095-C is not reported on your tax return. The form is a receipt from private insurers or employers confirming you had health coverage. Keep it for your records. When going through the Health Insurance section, all you had to do is indicate that you have health insurance coverage all year (if applicable) and that you were not enrolled in other plans (such us Obamacare of Healthcare.gov plan).

You should amend your tax return to add form 1098-T. It actually may be to your benefit to do so, you may qualify for an education credit and increase your refund.

If your return has been submitted- please wait - if it's rejected for some reason, you can add your 1098-T and re-send the return.

If your return has been submitted and accepted- you will have to amend; the return is mailed; takes about 16 weeks to process. Here are amending instructions:

DO I need to report my 1095-C that I had health insurance? Just now got it in the mail after already filing. I was to get a refund of  $533.00. Did not get because of a mistake. I Also got a CP11 That I owe $867.00 to IRS. Not sure why. I tried many times to call IRS, but always says they are overloaded with calls and I can never get through to them. Please help, What should I do?

You don't enter 1095-C on your tax return. Health insurance coverage is no longer mandatory on the federal tax return. But some states do charge a penalty for not having coverage. The CP11 should explain why you owe $867. IRS adjusted your refund due to a miscalculation on your return.

Check your return to see if the IRS' change is correct. If you agree with the change, pay the balance due, but if you don't agree to the change, you can always challenge it.

Understanding your CP11 Notice.
