I filed the wrong year, but I have 3 w2 for 2024 to add. I need to amend the one before

The one before was 2022. Now I need to add 3 w2's to correct. Do I just add those, then mail the 1040x to the IRS?

Wait---what?   Do you mean that you recently prepared a tax return using online software but entered 2022 income?   What happened with that tax return?   Did you e-file it or file it by mail?   Online software is only for 2024 returns so if you used online for a 2022 return, that return was all wrong.

A 2022 tax return has to be prepared using the forms and software for 2022----which can only be done now by using desktop download software on a full PC or Mac, and the 2022 return has to be filed by mail.

If you somehow used online and managed to get that return accepted with 2022 income on it (or if you mailed it), you have to wait for the IRS to process it fully and then amend.   When you amend, you have to remove all of the 2022 income and enter ONLY 2024 income.

Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return -

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

You can watch for information here:

To prepare a 2022 tax return:

You cannot change the tax year.   The current online program is for 2024 only.   Only a 2024 return can be prepared online and only a 2024 return can be e-filed.

Online preparation and e-filing for 2021, 2022, and  2023 is permanently closed.

Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.

To file a return for a prior tax year

If you need to prepare a return for 2021, 2022, or 2023  you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

And...you have not mentioned anything about 2023.    Do you need to prepare and file a tax return for 2023?   Again--if you need to file a 2023 return, you will need to download software for 2023 and mail the 2023 return.
