I filed my taxes thinking I wasn't claiming my son, but my wife needs to claim him. Is there a way for her to claim him now, or do I need to amend my taxes?

@morgan-blackweld If you filed already and it has been transmitted to the irs then she has to wait until your return is approved and refund received before an amendment can be done but take into account if you used the son and the wife wants to claim him she can but it will take 6 weeks for the processing time and also you would have to be liable to pay back what you received in credits for the child so she might just leave it how it is and wait til the next tax season to claim him because it may lead to reviews and audits on both your returns at some point
