I filed my taxes, they were accepted but I just received my 1098T from school should I amend? It increased my federal by $2200. Some say to wait for my refund then amend.

Yes, you are correct. If you have already e-filed or mailed the return and the IRS has accepted your return you need to wait until you have received your refund to file an amendment and add additional information. You will need to send in any forms that caused the need for an amendment (Original 1040 Form, new 1040X Form and 1098-T). Print, sign and mail your forms to the IRS.

Thank you! So basically when I receive the refund direct deposit, just log back on and follow the steps then mail it out. I am assuming since i do not owe, they would just put the $2200 back into my account via direct deposit?

Yes, that's correct. Wait until you receive your refund then, follow the instructions and then mail in the forms. Also, be sure to sign your forms. If you selected to receive your refund via direct deposit then, yes if not they would issue you a check.
