I filed my 2016 taxes almost 2 weeks ago.. how do I know if it has been processed? Should I wait a little longer to file my 2017 taxes?

You do not need to wait to file your 2017 taxes, you can do that now.
To check the status of your 2016 return, you should call the IRS and ask them what the status is since there is no way to check electronically since the 2016 return period ended.
