Who is "they"? TurboTax? The IRS?

What does "pay my federal" mean? You mean a fee for doing an amended return? Or do you mean tax that you owe after filling out the amended return (1040X)?

Have you received a letter from the IRS?

I'm confused with how TurboTax is calculating the Adoption Tax Credit. It seems like they are giving me the entire credit instead of capping it at what I paid in taxes
