I filed both my state and fed taxes bc my local tax box was "wrong". They both were received 4/8/25, I got my state within weeks, but I am still waiting on my fed. Why??

I was only given so many characters in the question box so I will not provide details. I was told I could not e file due to my local taxes box having a dollar amount in it, it was under 100 dollars. So i after e-signing, they tell me this, and have me print everything out to mail. I do so, mail certified, and see they received it. Got my state taxes within 3 weeks, which is where I thought I was going to have my problem. Turns out, I did not physically sign the federal return (I know it's dumb but I had e signed so guess I just spaced), so they mailed it back to me to re-sign May 8th, and I didn't receive it until JUNE 26th. I then signed the paperwork where they said my signature was missing and sent it back certified within the week. So they had received it at the end of June, and I have still heard absolutely nothing from them on Aug 14th. I am kind of starting to worry. It's not a crazy amount of money but I could really use the cash right now, and I cannot get in touch with an actual human with the IRS. Please help,
x

No one but the IRS can know anything specific about your return.  The IRS is currently processing paper returns filed in May 2025, according to their processing status page:

https://www.irs.gov/help/processing-status-for-tax-forms

Does yours show up in the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool?  Is there any message there?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To phone the IRS, if you get a voice robot that wants you to voice your issue, try just saying "speak to representative about my account".  You may have to say it more than once regardless of what it asks.  IMO, it's easier to reach someone early AM soon after they open.

IRS: 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday

Try the IRS first, but if you are having an economic hardship and can't get good info from the IRS, you can phone the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service to see if they will help you.   The second FAQ below shows the phone numbers for the IRS Taxpayer Advocate offices in your state.
