If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2021 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

Then just close the TurboTax window on your browser.

I have been able to exit the online tax system OK. But I still can not purchase and then download the state software for the state of tennessee from the PC downloaded software.

Tennessee does not have a personal income tax for tax year 2021 so there will not be a TN state program to download.
