Since you said "our business" I assume the business is owned by more than one person. Are the only owners two people who are married to each other, or are there other owners? If a married couple are the only owners, what state are you in?
What type of organization is your business: a partnership, a multi-member LLC, a qualified joint venture, an S corporation or a C corporation?
Is 2018 the first year that you are reporting the business on your tax return? If not, how did you report the business last year? Was it on Schedule C included in your personal tax return, or did you file a separate tax return for the business, on Form 1065, Form 1120, or Form 1120S?
You said "our business" but "my tax return." Is your tax return only for yourself, or are you filing jointly with your spouse?
When you say "I did my tax return" do you mean that you prepared the tax return but you have not filed it yet, or did you already file your tax return without the business?
This may seem like a lot of questions, but it all matters in determining what you have to do.
I have a LLC, I forgot to file my form 1065 for 2018, how should I approach this?
the business is jointly owned llc with a $2400 loss in 2018
If you elected to have your LLC taxed as a Partnership, you will need to purchase a 2018 Business program to file.
If you did not make that election and are a Husband Wife Qualified Joint Venture, then you will need to amend your 2018 personal return to include Schedule C.
