If you haven't filed your return, follow the steps below
If you have already filed your return and it has been accepted by the IRS for processing you won’t be able to change it. You need to contact the IRS to try to expedite this process. They will put a hold on the direct deposit and issue a paper check instead.

What if I entered the wrong bank account for direct deposit?
Hi - I had the same issue because I also needed to update saved direct deposit information and was searching for an answer. I happened to try the third option which I believe said Other Refund Options - I recall it said something about a paper check or split accounts under this choice - which seemed like the opposite of what I wanted BUT when I chose this option and continued it brought me to another screen where it asked if I wanted to use my direct deposit from the prior year and here I was able to choose "No" and enter new banking info. Hope this helps.
