This is normal. It can take anywhere from a few hours to 3 weeks to update. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund? tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.

Note: The IRS expects to issue most refunds in less than 21 business days after being accepted. Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) will experience a refund hold and a delay in processing.
I had to print and mail my return. for some reason i was unable to e-file
i mailed 5/21/2020 and now it is 7/7/2020 and i chked status and IRS says it has no status on my refund. i read that it is normal for this but it has been about a little over 6-weeks. is this normal to not have a status on a printed and US postal mailed-in return? who can i call at the IRS to check? ALL the phone numbers are automaton and hang-up on you. due to covid, all of the Local Tax Office are closed.
They just started opening the mail in June that's been stacking up. So you have to keep waiting.
