I fixed this problem myself.
I (carefully) deleted the Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet, and then just navigated through the program again answering questions with information I used from a saved draft return copy.
I was never asked for the basis like I was initially; I guess prior year depreciation entries did the trick.
To edit the tax basis for a business asset in TurboTax Self-Employed, while logged in and in your return:
Thank you for your response! Your solution worked up until the point I was supposed to see assets as a category, except I don't. I only see 1) General Info, 2) Payments and Identification, 3) Tax Details and 4) Other Situations. I am a sole proprietorship using a personal vehicle that I take expenses on at the moment; I don't know if that makes a difference.
When I navigate through the program I can find the worksheet containing Sch C input, and the incorrect entry I made in Part VI (Vehicle Depreciation Information), line 33c (Vehicle Basis). But I can't figure out how to correct that entry.
I'll also note that I use TT Self Employed (obviously) and exported information from there to start my return. AND...in order to save a draft copy of my return I had to register, which now apparently prevents me from clearing all information and starting over.
Thanks again for any help I can get! I just want to correct that one entry and then continue with my return.
Terry
