The person that did my 2020 tax return marked the wrong box next to my young son and I didn't get my child tax credit. I amended that return and mailed it in and they rejected it because I didn't sign somewhere. I was supposed to sign it and mail it back in before a certain date and I didn't ever get it mailed back in. Last week I went on Turbo Tax and started to amend my 2020 taxes again. The paper that it printed says that I am getting back $0. Is it saying that I am getting $0 back because it was amending my original amendment? At this point I am so confused and don't know what to do now. Please help

You may be able to cancel the amended return that you prepared. You do this by using the Forms menu option to bring up your forms, then find the form 1040-X and click on it to bring it up on your screen. At the bottom of the form you will see an option to delete the form. If you are using a MAC computer, you need to use the Forms menu and select Remove Form 1040-X.
Once you delete the form 1040-X, you can proceed to amend the original return like you did the first time.
Thank you for responding. I will try that because I have no idea what else to try.
To click on the forms tab is this on the turbo tax website or the irs website?
The forms tab in TurboTax.
Here are the steps to cancel an amended return. You'll need to undo any changes you made during the amendment process.
