I am trying to figure out how i can track my last years state return. I ended up owing in federal taxes but i was supposed to get a refund for state. How do i find it?

I owed for federal when i filed and im not sure how i requested to receive my state tax refund. I cant seem to find where i can find that information. I can download my last years return and it tells me that I am owed a refund from the state of Kansas but it doesnt tell me how it was supposed to be given to me.

Did you e-file the state return?  Does it say "accepted" for the state in your account for 2022?

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

If it was accepted and you did not receive the refund, contact the state.

If your state return was not e-filed successfully, print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
