To find your previous years' returns, in TurboTax Online:
When you first open your return and see "let's keep working on your taxes", scroll down to the section "Your tax returns and documents". If you prepared your 2022 tax return in TurboTax, in the same account, you should see "2022" listed among the documents you can select to view. If you used a different TurboTax account for 2022, you would need to log in to that account to view your return. See this help article for more information.
If you want to open up the prior year return to amend it or access the input screens, follow the directions in this help article.
There are times when you should amend your return and times when you shouldn't. Here are some common situations that call for an amendment:
- You realized you missed out on claiming a tax deduction or credit.
- You accidentally claimed the wrong tax filing status.
- You need to add or remove a dependent.
- You forgot to claim taxable income on your tax return.
- You realize you claimed an expense, deduction, or credit that you weren't eligible to claim.
