How long will it take to get a e-file return back?

The IRS started processing returns on January 23, 2017.  Any returns that have been e-filed will sit there on their server. If you are receiving Earned Income Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit, the IRS will not issue your refund before February 15, 2017, expect delays as late as the week of February 27th per the PATH Act.
