will turbotax correct my state tax when i redo my federal tax?

Before you can correct (amend your return), you will first need to wait until your return has been accepted and processed by the IRS and you have received your refund, if any.

It generally takes the IRS 10-21 days to process a return, but it can take longer in certain circumstances. TurboTax will prompt you to amend your State return when you redo your Federal return.  

TurboTax expects the Form 1040X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return to be available for TurboTax customers to amend an accepted return starting Thursday, February 28, 2019.
