How long did it take to get ur taxes after u filed ur taxes and after the irs garnished it for back owed taxes? It says ur refund has been applied to back tax obligation

I owe them over 400 but getting back 1500 or so. Will they send me back whats left after they take the 400?

The offset situation will add at least 2 weeks to the normal time frame for a refund which is normally 21 days or less. If there is any refund left after the debt is paid they will send the balance to you and you will get a letter of explanation a couple of weeks after that.
