You will need to access to Quick Employer Forms QEF to print.
In TurboTax Home & Business desktop edition, to access to QEF, here are the steps:
Would this printout be "Scannable" by the IRS. Their very own PDF's aren't "scannable" apparently, how would this be any different?
What do you mean by "Scannable by the IRS" Do you mean will be accepted if it is scanned document?
The IRS says if you print their PDF you can’t mail it to them because they wouldn’t be able to scan it properly (I have no idea why).
mid you were to print from TurboTax, wouldn’t it be have the same issue?
You can either get the forms at an office supply store (Copy A has special red ink that the IRS requires) or you can e-file the 1099s through Quick Employer Forms. If you e-file them through there, you only have to print the copies you distribute which do not need special ink.
The IRS will only accept it's own pink scannable Form 1099 NEC or MISC. The Forms sent to the State or Recepient can be on plain paper.
How do you print on to the IRS pink Form 1099?
Quick Employer Forms supports e-filing for Copy A of the forms with the IRS and Social Security Administration. Copy A of Form 1099 and W-2 are only used for e-filing and are not provided for printing. You can file them electronically and then print Copy B and Copy C for the recipient and your records.
