Ive already received my federal refund but I don't know how to check on my state

You can probably check the status of your state refund by going to your state's Department of Revenue website. More than likely there is a "Where's my refund?" option on the website. Many states also have a dedicated phone number you can call to check on your refund. This information should be easy to find with an internet search.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.
