How do I know if my taxes are completed correctly and have been filed ?

I filled out all the information on TurboTax for my 2016 return, but I want to be certain that the taxes went through. I have still not received my refund and am just trying to gather why not.

You can check to see whether your tax return was filed by simply re-opening your return or signing back in to TurboTax. Your filing status should be the first thing you see, it will either say e-file or Ready to mail for your status. If you do not see your filing status, then you will need to revisit your return and complete the filing process. 

If your return is filed, you can track it using the following instructions:

You can follow these steps to contact the IRS about your return:  Call the IRS at this number: 800-829-0582 (IRS phone support) Press 1 for English, then enter extension 652.
