How do I delete an answer or change the answer on HSA distribution. I answered wrong and Tax Cut will not take me back to that answer. It brings up the wrong thing.

I did not understand and put in the wrong answer for distribution of HSA. Do I have to redo the entire Turbo Tax form?  Why can I not edit or delete that answer.  I used all the HSA on Medical and it is not taxable but Turbo Tax will not let me correct my wrong answer and fix the mistake!

Are you able to edit your HSA information by following these steps?

  • Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
  • Across the top of the screen, click Deductions & credits.
  • Scroll down to Medical.  Click Show More to the right.
  • To the right of HSA, MSA contributions, click Start / Revisit.
  • At the screen Your HSA summary, click Edit.

Your HSA contribution is reported in Box 12 of your W-2 with the code W (Company Contributions to Health Savings Account).  Code W actually reports the combined contribution – yours plus your employer's. So if you contributed $1,500 to your HSA and your employer matched it dollar for dollar, Box 12 on your W-2 would show $3,000 with a code W.
