How do I correct an error for the code in block 12 of w2?

When imported the picture of my W2, Block 12 was erroniously read as "R" vice "D".  This is leading to numerous questions about an Archer HDHP which I do not have.

You should be able to navigate back to the Federal taxes...Wages&Income page and edit the W-2....you need to anyhow, because you can't trust there aren't other errors too.

Once you get into your tax return, the navigation menu selections are on the left side,....and/or top of the screen.
(but most of us don't use the Mobile App....a browser may be more reliable)

I agree with SteamTrain that there may be other errors in the W-2 data; therefore, the safest thing to do is to delete the W-2 in TurboTax and then re-enter it manually using the photo on your screen (i.e., you look at the photo of the W-2, then manually enter the data, which may indeed require you to use the browser on a PC).

Even when you do this, though, you are likely to find that TurboTax has not given up on the idea that you now have an Archer MSA (this is what the code R on the W-2 refers to).

If you continue to get errors, then you will need to delete any MSA data on your return. Please do the following:

1. make a copy of your W-2(s) (if you don't have the paper copies)

2. delete your W-2(s) (use the garbage can icon next to the W-2(s) on the Income screen

*** Desktop***

3. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and select the desired form. Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.

*** Online ***

3. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form

4. delete form(s) 8853-T and 8853-S (if one)

5. go back and re-add your W-2(s), preferably adding them manually

6. continue with your return

P.S. if on line 4 you happen to see 8889-T or 8889-S, delete them, too.
