Online TurboTax saves your work after each screen.  You can come and go.  To exit you can go to the left menu column and scroll way down and click on Sign Out.    Even if you were to close your browser, it should still save what you had been working on.   But the best way is to use the Sign Out tab way down in the left menu column.
