How do I amend my 2018 return using Turbotax deluxe?

Why do I have to enter all my data again when amending my 2018 return? Why can't I just open and amend the return?

Let's double-check if you have e-filed. You should not need to re-enter your info.

Please check here Confirm Status . Simply enter the required information and select "Get Status"
If you found your status, you have filed.
If your return wasn't found, that means you have not filed yet. Sign back into your online account, select Take me to my return, to your left menu, select the tab File and repeat steps 1-3 to re-file.

If you have paper-filed, to amend, click here 2018 Amend.
