How can I find out if my injured spouse claim was applied to my case. I mailed it in after my taxes were filed

Christina when you view your IRS transcript online look at your account transcript for 2019 you should have a code 971 showing they received it and the date it was received. It should be on there now or soon since your almost at your 8 week. Hopefully you see a code 846 that’s the date they will issue your refund.

I am in the same boat. It’s been 8 weeks and 5 days counted from the day I saw they received my injured spouse claim form 8379(971) and yet there’s no way to know when next my money will be received.

Please what number did you call to speak to a live person? Please save a soul. It’s been over 8 weeks for me that I Irs received my form 8379 and I am getting frustrated

Yup, no way to check on the current status. I'm close to the nine week mark. The 800 number that I listed before is just the main number BUT problem is that now there's no live operators due to covid. Could you imagine if you owed the IRS money!?!? They'd turn you upside down asap to get that last penny. Yet they owe us thousands and are now late!

You will get your stimulus in the mail if you dint set up direct deposit. Got mine in the mail. Loans are forgiving for now till September but you can also check your status from Get my payment on irs website.

It will be on the down part and says form 971 received

Ariiyiike when you see an 846 that date is when your refund will be sent.

There’s only one 846 there and that was the refund date for the initial payment before they garnished all our money to offset my husband’s debt I know nothing about and that was before I filled for injured spouse 8379

It’s just frustrating and annoying that we have to go through this when it was not us responsible for their debts

I completely agree! Not our debt and we shouldn’t have been punished for it period.

They should be responsible for their own debts not garnishing all our money to cover their debt, especially this trying and crazy time
