How can I elminate error message: routing number has too many characters?

The routing number is correct and used in previous years. This is on the download Mac version.

Make sure there is not an extra character entered in the field.   Delete everything in the box (completely clear it out) and reenter the 9 digit number.

Re-entering the routing number still doesn't resolve the error message.

Banks have a special routing number for ach, etc. You might have to call your bank and ask them for it.   Or you can find it on the bank's website.
