How can I edit the Final Review? I accidentally put in husband's DL for Spouse and mine for Taxpayer, need it the other way. Have not filed yet but can't edit my State.

If you haven't filed the federal return yet, you can walk back through the File section to review and correct your driver's license entries as well as access the State return and finish filing.

  • Log in to your account and select the Take me to my return button, select State to finish your state return, then select File on the left menu panel to file and review your entries.

If you have filed the federal return then you will not be able to make changes to the return unless it has been accepted or rejected by the IRS.

If you have already filed the return and you now need to file the state return, please see these instructions:

  • Login to your TurboTax account.
  • Select Show on your Tax Home screen, then Your tax returns and documents.
  • Make sure the current tax year is highlighted, then select Add a state.
  • Select the State Taxes tab.
  • Select Continue to start or complete your state taxes.
  • Select Done with State. Continue through the flow to review and file your state taxes.

Thank you.  I've done exactly that about 20 times and it just tells me I'm all good.  Yes, I have already filed Federal.  It was accepted by the IRS three days ago, but I still can't access the Review screen.  It goes straight to,

"Congratulations! We reviewed your Illinois return and everything looks good."

I've tried to delete state and start all over, but it just takes me back to the beginning to edit everything.  It want allow me to start from scratch. I'm using the free edition, maybe that's why I'm having these issues.  I've used the free edition for many years though.  I've never had problems.  It was just a simple slip, because it asked for "my" driver's license.  It really meant my husband's though, because he's the head of household, so it messed everything up.

Hello, can you please clarify for me, is the issue for entering the DL for the federal return or the state? If you are trying to correct the DL screen for federal and it's already been accepted then you should be ok.

No, this is for state.  I need to correct it in the review section for state before I submit I submit it, but I cannot access the review section.

Ok got it thank you, so I tried re-creating the steps in a test return and I got the same message that everything looks good, so I clicked continue to finish filing and when it asked about whether to e-file or mail, I selected e-file then it asked for my driver's license info. Can you get to this part on your return?
