Why haven't I received my state refund?

I know it says federal refunds will take longer if you have earned income credit. But it doesn't say anything regarding state taxes.

The Massachusetts state website is saying 6-8 weeks for returns. Is this accurate? I know someone that filed a week after I did on turbotax and received their refunds on Wednesday and mine is still knowing accepted but nothing has been issued for both state and federal. Is this because we have earned income credit?
