You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
The Turbo Tax home page shows me that I’ve filed my 2020 state and federal taxes but I never received the email saying that my returns were being transmitted. Turbo Tax has had no answer for that.
Yesterday, I received a call from Turbo Tax’s actual number telling me to check my email for simple instructions on how to correct my returns so that they can be accepted. I was relieved that at least I was on the right track to moving things along. I checked my email but there was no email. I called and was told by three different specialists that there is no record of anyone calling or any reason I would need to make adjustments to my return. Today, I contacted the Office of the President of Intuit. I was told the same thing regarding the call and my return and that it appears to just be pending waiting on the IRS. It’s been pending for five days now. I don’t know if I can trust what I’m being told and should just wait or if there’s something else I should be doing to resolve the issue. How long do we all wait with it stuck in pending ? 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
