Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Call irs alot of ppl r getting reviewed and seems like alot have used that tax credit
Signs to look for well over 21days
And if your status bar disappears on wmr
Good luck everyone
No 60 days frikkin date they give you could be 60 from march 23
Talked to a rep today. If you haven't gotten your refund and you have no bars, your refund is under review. They said check back by April 30 if no word!!!
I got a letter in the mail today. Says my refund is under review. Also said 60 days, but it did have a date. It said from March 2nd. Its bull crap....
People need to start requesting a congressional inquiry. They're causing a lot of people to under go hardships and Congress can see what's really going on behind the scenes, because from looking at comments IRS representatives are telling all kinds of crazy tales. Some people were given deposit date, but funds didn't show up. Some people were told that their account was fine, but later got a 60 day letter. some people get 60day letters then deposit dates. Some people filed later, but got their taxes back quicker then people who filed early. I know back in Dec 2019 I saw all these IRS job opening on usajobs.gov and they were taking up multiple pages. I wonder if they have enough trained personnel to process all the returns coming in and if they don't just throwing people under a 40 to 60day review would be a scam to buy time. I know reps complained that there were billions of tax returned that needed to be processed and that's why so many people were calling in. Check out the tax payer bill of rights https://www.irs.gov/taxpayer-bill-of-rights, because they are supposed to be providing quality service and processing taxes in a timely way.
How would we even initiate this ?
I have only received my state. I filled February 1st, after 21 days I called. They said everything checked off. Nothing wrong. But was told I would have In 30 days..... nothing yet
My return was accepted 1/29, mid February WMR changed from bars to the message saying your return is still being processed. 2/28 they mailed me a letter asking me to verify my identity. I recieved the letter and jumped through the verification hoops on 3/3... and was told it would be up to 9 weeks before my return was processed and the refund sent. Through yesterday I had that same processing message on WMR... today I have bars and a DDD of 3/11. I have been following this thread since it was only 2 pages long lol, so I wanted to give everyone an update.
Kinda bummed, checked wmr and still no upd as te shows still processing and tax topic 152.
Feeling so discouraged. Why even bother sending a 60 day letter WITH NO ACTION REQUIRED. Filed 1/31 accepted same day. Received 60 day letter 2/28 that was dated for 2/19. I'm not even going to bother checking anymore. I dont understand why they pushed the tax credit on people to "see if you qualify for it" i understand they doing it for fraud but c'mon it so long, the irs people on the phone sound like host at a restaurant keep giving everyone that " it'll be a 30 minute wait for your table" when it's well over an hour.
