Reject Code FW2-001-02 generally occurs when a W-2 has been entered in the return and marked as a statutory employee W-2, but no Schedule C has been associated with the W-2. Wages from a W-2 marked as a statutory employee W-2 are not included in the income reported on Form 1040, line 1. Earnings as a statutory employee must be reported as income in Schedule C.
is that box checked on the actual w-2? if not then clear the checkbox in TurboTax. - you may need to delete the W-2 and enter it manually if you imported it.
I incurred this error, but my W-2 does not have the statutory box checked, and I don't use a Sch C. The W-2 is from a non-qualified pension plan. What should I do?
I had to open Turbo tax forms. My W2 is for an unqualified “pension” only 2 fields have the amount I received box 1 and box 11(non-qualified plans BUT TurboTax populated box 10 with my wages. I had to override that field to delete the amount. Resulting in only 2 fields having the wage amount populated. E-filed my return and it was accepted.
I don't think you have a W-2; it may be a 1099-R. The type of form is listed just below the date.
To post a 1099-R
I have a W-2, non qualified pension. Only 2 boxes are populated, Box 1 and Box 11. Box 11 is where you report a nonqualified plan. But the TurboTax software takes that data and adds it into another box. I had to go to “Forms” find the W-2 and delete that entry. E-filed and both the federal and state were accepted.
I know the difference between a W-2 and a 1099. I’ve used TurboTax for decades and have never had a problem with this Nonqualified Plan. Just look at any W-2 box 11. Previous versions of TurboTax handled correctly, the 2022 version adds or fills another box rendering the W-2 invalid and the e-file gets rejected. Go into forms find the box that TT added and delete the value. Then resubmit your taxes.
