Form SSA-1099

I've used turbotax for a few years now, and every year was asked about SS benefits and the SSA-1099. This year, I wasn't asked about it and neglected to include the amount on the form 1040SR.  My refund has been pending and am now trying to amend. It showed a refund of 2700 and now shows owing 380. Could this be correct??

Don't amend until you get the refund from the original return.

We can't tell for sure whether the amounts that you listed are correct, since we can't see your tax return. But they certainly could be correct, especially if you had no tax withheld from your Social Security benefits.

Yes, if your social security benefits were taxable in combination with other income, this will cause your refund to drop because of added income. Also as rjs has mentioned, you did not have taxes withheld from your social security, which will cause you to owe taxes.
