Form 4868 shows money due, Filing shows 0 due, how do I pay the money due

Every year I hate Turbo Tax more and more, The last 2 years I have not been able to remove form 4868 before taxes are due. I selected it because paperwork was not received.

So I "filed" and just as I did it changed the amount due from what is due to $0. WTH!!

So I go and print the 4868 that shows what is due. How to I file this electronically? The software (desktop) version is saying "nothing due" Which is incorrect.

If I print the 4868 (from TurboTax) it does not show where to mail or whom to make the check to.

Form 4868 is used to request an extension of time to file your income tax return Form 1040. I'm not sure why the amount due changed when you went to file it. However, you can file it with the amount due as $0 and then make a payment online for the estimated tax due. You can do that by using this link:  Pay IRS   Just make sure you indicate that the payment is for the 2022 tax year.

If you pay with your extension, then amount you owe is zero.  That's how it works.

the question is, did you actually submit the extension request to IRS. You seem unsure.

did you enter bank info? if YES, IRS will take your money immediately.

It never asked me for bank account information.

for consistency with the tax return you are looking at,

go to IRS.gov payments page and select "Extension".
