Forgot to submit federal taxes but aid on time

You may get a failure to file penalty even if you paid the taxes owed on or before April 15, 2024.  So it would be prudent to file the tax return as soon as possible.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

That's ok. You can still efile until Oct 15.  Go back through the File tab and finish submitting it by hitting the big Transmit Returns now button.  Click on Add a State to let you back into your return.

I was trying to find the failure to file info on the IRS site. I just forgot to hit submit - but had paid the federal taxes a week early. Prior to asking this question, I did submit - and all returns were accepted very quickly which was great. We already received the state tax refund!  Thank you
