Filing amended returns

Why must I paper file my amended return (69 pages)? Turbotax says both federal and California allow electronic filing of amended returns. But I get the message I must file by paper. Are there pages I can omit"

Amended tax returns prior to tax year 2021 can only be printed and mailed at this time.

You only have to print the amended tax returns, Form 1040-X and any forms and schedules that were changed by amending the return. Those forms and schedules will have an Attachment Sequence Number located in the upper right corner of the form or schedule. Worksheets and forms that are indicated for your use only are Never filed with a tax return or an amended tax return.
