So I'm trying to file an amended tax return for 2022 to update the filing status from married FS to married FJ, and Turbo Tax is telling me that "Form 1040-X cannot be filed electronically if there is a change in filing status."
But this is not true according to the 6/23/22 release from IRS. (https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-taxpayers-now-have-more-options-to-correct-amend-returns-electronic...) It clearly says "Taxpayers can also amend their return electronically if there is change to their filing status or to add a dependent who was previously claimed on another return."
Is anyone else having the same issue? Will Turbo Tax fix this? Or am I mistaken that this can be filed electronically?

Hi Katrina,
I've amended everything and at the final stage where I choose to e-file. However, like I said above, Turbo Tax is giving me an error message that I CAN'T file it electronically. Do you know how to fix this issue?
Please try to update the software, as this can be causing the issue if not up to date.
Please let us know if this does not work. @Abby27
