Ok so I filed my taxes selecting the option that I didn't receive the 2nd stimulus check because at the time (3 days ago) I hadn't. Now as of today that stimulus is finally pending in my account. I don't want the IRS to think I was trying to defraud them and also don't want my return held up by a number of months on top of the normal time it takes to receive it. Is there anything I can do? Thank you!

I'm experiencing the same thing! I filed my taxes, claimed I didn't get my stimulus and 2 days later, it was pending in the bank. How are we able to fix this?
It looks as though a lot of people are experiencing this. Someone responded to a lot of people dealing with this and said wait to see if they accept or reject. If they reject them fix and re-file. If they accept then see if you get the payment and then file an amended return after because an amended return takes several months to process. All I know is I just don't want to get hit with an audit over this. I am hoping they will just issue my return minus the stimulus amount but who knows.
This happened to a lot of people. The IRS is continuing to issue stimulus payments until February 5, so this will continue to happen.
If the IRS does not accept your return when it opens on February 12, then you can fix the rejected return and resubmit it with the correct information.
But if it is accepted, then the IRS will have a procedure to resolve the issue. We do not yet know how they will handle it.
