Why is the area under Received by Virginia "Unknown"?

The IRS will start processing returns on 1/28/2019. The state filing status will update (which can take a few days) when the Federal return has been received and accepted. Official IRS announcement.

I have an update for you:

The state of Virginia has announced the following that may impact customers filing in Virginia:
"Virginia's tax season officially starts on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.

However, there is one big difference this year that could affect your state return. The Virginia General Assembly is determining the Commonwealth’s response to the federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Because of this, Virginia Tax will not be able to start processing returns immediately."

I filed my federal and Indiana state the same day but accepted same day but Indiana now has longer refund time saids it could be up to four weeks  do to checking forms for fraud.
