I had to make an amendment to my Federal return after it was already accepted. One of my investment brokers alerted me that their clearing agent had produced a bad file which might of made the 1099 tax form inaccurate. I uploaded the new 1099 which then my state returned was amended automatically after. Afterwards, there was no change at all. No balance due and it did not increase my refund amount from the state of IL. Does the state of Illinois require that I file a 1040-X/amendment even if there was no balance due or the refund increased/decreased?
