You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
The email may have gone into your SPAM/Junk folder. You can check your e-file status to see if your returns were accepted or rejected, or it will say no return filed.

If your returns have been accepted:
You can checked the IRS website Where's My Refund for your Federal information?
If you have a State refund, click on the following link, then click on your State

If you're expecting a refund, try checking irs.gov/refunds to see if they say they've at least received it. You'll need your refund amount, so if you're not expecting a refund this probably won't work.
For me, I completed mine (federal only) yesterday and never received either of the two emails (1 from Turbo Tax confirming transmission, and the 2nd from the IRS saying my return has been accepted). I had no such problem in previous years [and yes I've checked my Junk/Spam folders, and yes it's been more the requisite 24 hours since the transmission time stamp]. (Sorry WTF40, that was for all the TT experts who will read this, I'm not trying to be snarky to you.)
Anyway, if you can't check it on irs.gov, here's how to check it in TT (well, how I do it -- TT is installed and running as an app on my computer, I don't know about accessing it online). Go back in and click on the FILE tab. Then on "Check E-file Status." For me, TT said my return had been accepted. I wanted proof though.
So, still under FILE, go to "Print/Save for Your Records," then the Blue "Save As PDF." Here, select "All official forms required for filing" and then uncheck your state return so that only your federal one is included. Then hit the blue "Preview Print Copy."
Now on the very last page, you should see "ELECTRONIC POSTMARK - CERTIFICATION OF ELECRONIC FILING." If there a date there next to "Federal Return Submitted" then you know TT did in fact transmit it to the IRS.
On the next line down, if there's a date there after "Federal Return Acceptance Date," then you know the IRS accepted it. (To see why this is proof, read the last 2 sentences on that last page.)
I hope this helps for your federal return at least. I really can't help w/ NJ, I've never filed a return there.
I did not receive a confirmation that my federal taxes were accepted
As bluedeb mentioned above, please check your junk/spam folders; either way you may feel free to check your e-file status using this tool: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

After wasting >2hrs on the phone with a Turbo Tax "expert" - all to no avail...I can't express how grateful I am to have stumbled upon your post.
As in your case, Turbo Tax failed to send that 2nd email confirming IRS "acceptance" of my return (it's now been 2 1/2 days since IRS has done so).
Many thanks for providing a solution which allowed me to p;rint out written confirmation for my records.
My post (above) is a reply to McBark's message above
Thank you again McBark - for a phenomenal post
knicnak --
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it was helpful! I still remember -- over a year later now mind you -- struggling with this issue. And, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. So again, many thanks for your reply.
