E-filing Status Not Updating

I had the same problem last year and am having it again this year.  I e-file my returns using TurboTax and get messages confirming that they have been accepted by the IRS, but when I check on the filing status, the desktop program shows that the returns have not yet been filed.  Because of this, I am unable to amend my returns.

The answers given thus far by TurboTax are superficial "I can not be bothered looking into this further" responses.  There is obviously a bug in their program that causes the e-filing status not to be properly updated.  I spent over an hour on the phone last year trying to address this, with no success.

TurboTax-- please look into this and let us know how this problem can be fixed.  Independently verifying the status is not what is needed.  What is needed is a fix to the program logic error.

Also, I live overseas.  When I try to contact TurboTax Support, the only number I get is a toll-free 800 number which can not be used when calling internationally.  Can you please provide a non-toll free number as well to accommodate those of us living outside the U.S.?

E-filing Status Not Updating

Yes, you can amend your 2022 tax return once it's been filed and accepted and the form is available. It's possible to make changes if it's still in a pending status.

Please see this TurboTax FAQ here for assistance in amending or making simple changes in your tax return.
