Do you have to print out a signature page to sign & mail in even if you e-file? My return was already accepted a week ago, but I can't track my return on IRS app/site.

I filed my return Jan. 27 this year. I got my return in less than 2 weeks last year. I feel like at least one year I had to print out & mail a signed signature page for my return to be finalized. I'm wondering if that's why tracking information hasn't showed up for my return yet. Please let me know, I appreciate any help, thanks!

NOTHING is mailed in when you efile a return ...

Did you use Online TurboTax?    Did you choose to efile the return?  After paying, one has to continue through several additional screens to electronically sign and transmit the return.

After that one should get 2 emails--the first saying the return had been transmitted, followed by a second email saying if the return was accepted or rejected.

Did your efiled return reject?   Or was the efile process never completed?

Or did you choose to file by printing and mailing?  If so, TurboTax does not mail it for you--you have to do the mailing.

If you used Online TurboTax, log into your Online TurboTax account. At the Tax Home what is showing for the "return status" of your return? If you don't see any "status" on the main Tax Home page, then scroll down and click on "Your Tax Returns & Documents", expand that section and choose tax year 2019   then look for the status.    Does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?

It says my state & federal returns are accepted & I do remember typing out my name for it to be signed online through TurboTax. Just when I go to track my return it says that the information does not match or is not available yet, so that has me worried that I might have forgot something.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section.  In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Use this TurboTax website to check the status of an e-filed return and if it was either accepted or rejected -https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status -https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

“Ready to mail”  or "printed" means that your tax return has not been filed.  Either you could not e-file for some reason , or you chose to file by mail.  OR if you really did already mail your return, the software does not have any way to know that you put your return in an envelope and took it to a mailbox, so it will always say “ready to mail” in your online account.

TurboTax does not mail your return for you.  You have to print it, sign it, and mail it yourself.  When you mail a tax return, you need to sign it where it says "Sign Here" and write in the date you signed it by the word "Date".  Attach copies of your W-2 and any other documents that show taxes withheld to the left side of the papers where it says "Attach Forms..."

When you print your return, it will print with filing instructions that tell you where to mail it.  Pay careful attention to the address you mail your return to —federal and state returns do not get mailed to the same place.

It is not required, but is a good idea, to use a mailing service that will track your return or provide you with a receipt showing that the IRS got it--such as Fedex, UPS, or certified mail.  It will take about 4 weeks and then you can track the status of your return at the IRS website.

You can print your return by following the instructions below

1 Select the My Account drop down in the upper right and choose Print Center.

2 Under the Choose your option section, select which forms you want to print.

3 Click Print save or preview this year’s return.

4 Click Print.

5 Mail to the address specified in your return

Tip: You must be inside your return when you click on My Account
