Do I need to amend my taxes?

I filled by taxes on 1/25 and accepted on 1/26. It’s now been 48 days since I filed. I claimed the child credit and eic so I knew I wouldn’t get it till around 1st week of march. But now it’s march 15th and still nothing. And I have that vague message of my return being delayed with no further information.

I have looked over my taxes again and I noticed my taxes don’t show that I received the 3rd impact payment from 2021 which was 2400. For my daughter and I.

so I’m wondering since my taxes don’t mention it do I need to amend them? Or do I just wait it out?

I have looked on the irs website and can’t seem to find the answer for this.

You'll have to wait.

You can't file an amended return until the original has processed.

The IRS has the Stimulus payments on record. If you did not report the correct amount on your original return, most likely the IRS will correct that for you. That is probably the reason for the delay.

If you didn't report the 2,400 payment, expect your refund to be 2,400 less.

If that means you'll owe, be sure to pay that by April 18th to avoid interest. You can make a payment without filing an amended return.

If the IRS adjusts and send you the reduced refund, they will also send a letter explaining the adjustment. You will have the option of accepting the change or appealing.
