How do  you know the amount of your refund

Using the online editions the tax refund or taxes owed are shown in the display at the top of the online program screen.  Taxes owed will be shown with a minus sign (-).

You can also view the Form 1040 for the federal tax return.  A federal tax refund (if any) will be on Line 35a of the Form 1040.

You can view your Form 1040 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

There is a "refund meter" on the screen.   Or look at line 35a of your Form 1040 ---- if you are getting a federal refund that is where you will see it.   Or read what it says in your online account.
